I currently hold a Vanquis card that has gone over the £1k limit by a couple of hundred pounds. This is because I lost my work a few months back and although Vanquis put the interest on hold for 3 months, I still couldnt make the payment they wanted so they have passed it on to Impact collections.
I have just booked an appointment with the CAB, but its not until Monday 21st. They told me over the phone to tell Vanquis I have spoken with the CAB and have booked a spot etc and to hold off until then. I can imagine they will ignore that?
Was expecting a Jobseekers payment, but as I was self employed its taken them an age to sort out, and I have now found a new job which wont be paying me until end of the month.
Here is the question(s)..If I had, say, £20 to send Vanquis today would it be a good idea to do this via my account online? I know its nowhere what they are after but its all I can do. Will it help my case to pay what I can even small amounts? And can I do this as its now with collections, will they see it on my account?
I spoke with collections on the mobile last night and they kept offering to lower the payment by £12 then £24, but I didnt have a penny for them. She said " Ok, I understand" and we said goodbye. One minute later she rang my house phone!
