Multiple Adresses on File - Applying for Card

Hi all,
Ok, so I'm taking a trip abroad and would like to get the best deal on spending whilst out there (and I also do lots of buying online from foreign sites) so was thinking of getting the Halifax Clarity card as recommended here. I currently have a Barclaycard Platinum and Santander 123 card which I always pay off in full, but they're pretty lousy for foreign currency.
The problem is, when I was a student I never changed my bank and personal details from my parents' house, and still haven't as I'm working in different cities on placements until next year and the hassle of changing everything every 6 months is too much to handle! I've been in my new place for about 4 months now.

However, I changed the address on the Barclaycard to my current place as it was very easy to do online. It looks like this has been propagated to my credit report (through annualcreditreport) but the electoral roll hasn't. So, if I apply for the card putting my new address down as the primary address (and listing my parents' as the previous address) am I asking for trouble with a rejected applications and potential fraud markers? I leave mid July and don't want to have to go and pick it up from their house - by using their address - (negating any saving!) and I don't really want the hassle of chasing up address changes for then either...

Anyone been in a similar situation or know about this kinda thing?

Thanks!
Alastair
