Lloyds Credit Card, Cancelled but not...

Hi guys,

Hope you are all well.

I need some help and im a bit peed off at Lloyds.

I had a credit card in 2008. I used it once to guarantee a rental car but never made any payments on it.

The credit card was on my internet banking and I thought all was well I had a new card some where and expected it to expire later this year.

I now want a credit card with 0% on purchases, seeing they had a new deal I wandered into my branch and had a chat seeing if I could have the 0% deal. No problem I was told..until...

The nice lady looked into my account to cancel my current credit card and put through a new application to get the new deal. It turns out my credit card was cancelled in 2009 by them for none usage. I was a bit boggled that it was still on my internet banking.

Apparently it was cancelled on one system but on a second system it was still open for some reason. She phoned around and I was told it was a system error and would be resolved in 24/48 hours and she would give me a call.

4 days later no call so i poped in.. she was with another customer and I was told she would get back to me... 4 days later I go back in and managed to talk to the nice lady.

She said she had been looking at the account and nothing had changed, she said shes come across this before and in actual fact it might take 6 months plus for the system to correct its self. But she would keep checking and chase it for me.
She suggested (knowing that I wanted around the same limit of 4k) that I try a few other companies and see if they can give me what I need.

So looking on here I tried Tesco and got a limit of £800. Since I have no poor credit history i was boggled. I tried a few others and got the same limit.
I then got a letter from tesco asking me to send some bits to them to agree to the card (i didn't want the card nore progress with the application).
I thought i would ring them and see, explain the above if they can override the credit amount.

Again I spoke to a nice chap who sad that because I had applied to them my credit limit was now locked for the next 6 months with ALL other cards.

Do I really have to wait for the two systems to talk and wait for 6 months before I can apply for more credit?

Is there anything I can do?

Has my credit history now been destroyed?

Thanks

Jon
