Stoozing and future mortgage

$

Hi guys,

Just a quick one.

I started stoozing last year and have built up around 3k on CC's, we sold our house this year and are currently renting as we needed a quick move but I am wondering how this will effect our mortgage application when we come to buy again?

Would we be ok to pay off everything before we apply? Would it be better to pay it off now before we look to buy in 6-12 months?

Paying them off is not an issue, but rather the money in our pockets.

temporary (virtual) credit card

I need to send my credit card details by a non-secure means (e-mail or fax ) to Botswana to pay for a national park booking.

I'm sure I've heard of 'disposable' credit cards.
But can't find anything on my card providers' web sites (Halifax, Barclaycard, mbna).
And a general search just seems to throw up US banks stuff.

Does anyone know how I do this please?

Have i still got my 0% intrest rate?

Also once of my credit cards payments was late by 2 days in in November (Halifax 0% card).

Payment due date was 6th November
I paid on the 8th of November
Late payment added to account on the 8th November (fine I was late as the payment didn't go through)

Next Statement date was 12th November.
The Statement Min payment included the late payment fee which I have paid but there was no interest listed, I'm hoping this is correct and I haven't lost the 0% interest rate.

If I had shouldn't there have been interest on the bill as well?

Capital One - Cash Withdrawal

Hi.

I was at the barbers shop and he said that card wasn’t accepted. To avoid causing a scene I went to the cash machine and withdrew £30 off my Capital One 0% purchases card.

My cash interest rate is 30.304%. If I pay £30 to my card tonight and it clears tomorrow evening, will I only be charged one days worth of interest on the cash advance, as I have purchases on my balance too, will they take the £30 off of my cash advance amount or other transactions first?

The transaction on my card is showing as £30, there’s no £3 fee showing at the moment - will this withdrawal fee be added on my next statement or when the transaction is no longer pending?

Is the cash withdrawal fee charged interest as well, so would I need to pay £33 to my card in order to avoid any more days worth of interest? Please remember my other transactions are only purchases which are 0% on my card.

Thanks for your help!

Balance transfer time restrictions?

Hi guys, I have an MBNA credit card, I have had it for years and have great deals. However, I've just started paying interest after the free period. My question is, if I transfer my balance to another card, can I transfer it STRAIGHT back to MBNA after say, a month, so I get my interest free period back? The reason I ask is even paying interest my payments with MBNA are lower than any of the other cards I'm getting quotes for, but interest is interest and I need to get rid of it if I can. Thanks

Barclaycard Increasing Minimum Payments

I and my wife have received letters from Barclaycard for all our cards stating that minimum payments are to increase from Feb 18 from 0.25% to 2.25%. We have a number of balance transfers, some running to 2019. Barclaycard word it as a big favour to us as we will be able to 'reduce our debts sooner'. The reality is of course that we have effectively taken out a loan on one set of terms and they, having taken the fee for the transfer have changed to a different set of terms making the deal we took out significantly less attractive. I'm surprised this is even legal. It is certainly highly dubious ethically to lend over a certain term then demand the money back early. We can pay back easily but this could put some in difficulty. I think this needs publicising. I'm assuming all Barclaycard customers are getting the same letter?

need help understanding the intrest rates and min payments

I have many credit cards with over 36k in debt (no assets to sell) and I'm trying to work out what card to pay off first, two of these cards are not 0% balance transfers so these are first on the list. The issue is I can only afford to pay the minimum payments until 26th of July (Halifax overdraft of 4k with massive interest rate I need to pay of first) I have a post in debt free wannabe section talking about all of my debts and outgoings.

Values taken from Decembers statement
Tesco - Statement date 4th, payment date due 24th, I pay on 6th
Total: - £6253.38
Split over monthly rates below
2.075% - £4075.33
1.805% - £2178.04
1.805% - £0.01
Min payment
£149.37
They say min is calculated as Interest + 1% of balance so shouldn't the be higher?
Interest for the month should have been £123.8948 (If my sums are correct)
if its interest + 1% of balance then Minimum payment should have been £186.4286

Values taken from Novembers statement
Capital One - Statement date 9th, payment date due 5th following month, I pay on 12th of statement month
Total: - £2177.53
Split over Annual rates below
30.340% - £2177.53
Min payment
£73.47

I cant see anywhere how the minimum payment is calculated as far as I can tell this was lower then it should have been. Interest for the month should have been £55.05522 (If my sums are correct)
so if its interest + 1% of balance then Minimum payment should have been £76.83052

Am I working out the interest wrong ?

What card should be paid of first to save me more in the long term ? I have around 900 to spit between them for the month as of July 26th.

In credit- charged fees?

I paid off my credit card (Capital One) and then received a refund, so was £500 in credit. I spent this on betting sites and assumed as I was using my own money, I wouldn’t be charged fees... I was charged an ‘advance fee’ as well as cash fees, amounting to £30! Can they really do this considering it’s my own money I was spending? I’m going to close the account when their lines open, that takes the p*ss!

Tesco section75 claim

Hi I wonder if anyone can help. I recently bought a ring from Gemporia which has lost two diamonds in 18months, they wouldn't help so I put a claim in through my Tesco Credit card section 75. But get this, they have rejected my claim, as I am only an additional card holder on my husbands account. I cant find anything on their terms and conditions to say that the second card holder has no protection at all. Very disappointed as I use the card to pay for all our holidays, big items etc. I ve had the card for ten years and never knew this, was anyone else aware of this? Don't know what course of action to take now, any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Credit card statement not appearing

A while back, I've subscribed to a text message service from the bank to let me know when the credit card statement is ready. I've received one of them yesterday.

I've logged onto the online banking portal and clicked on my credit card account, then went to the statement section to see December's statement hoping to see the amount to pay in January 2018.. On there it says my December statement is not available, as my account was inactive. See below extract from online banking:

December 2017 (account inactive) No account activity. No statement available?

? = account activity
There have been no transactions or other recent activity on this account. There is also no outstanding balance and we have no important information to share with you, so a statement for this month is not available.

This isn't true, as I have been using my credit card frequently between November and December.

Anyone have this issue? By the way, this issue is with Lloyds Banking Group.

Debt and a Company Credit Card

There is a possibility In future that we will get company credit cards as we do a lot of travel ect..

The issue is I have a massive amount of debt (36k) and I'm worried that if I'm given a company card then my creditors will take the balance of my company card to offset the debt. (I assume these cards will be in our names)

Can my creditors do this?

I really do not want to tell my employer of my debts.

lloyds S75 claim

Hi, can anyone help me?

I have made a s75 claim on my lloyds credit card and all lloyds seem to do is ask me pointless information in order to stop me from asking for a final decision so that I can take it to the ombudsman.

Last year I had a new kitchen and utility room installed in my home. The price was £35k. Initially I had one contract for both, but then a friend told me about s75 and recommended that I make the build into 2 separate contracts. Luckily I did, as the builder went under. I paid a small deposit on my lloyds card for the kitchen (£25k) and a small deposit for the utility (£10k) on my tesco credit card (so that I would get the same protection from them as well).

I made a claim with lloyds under s75 for breach of contract, but stupidly sent the first contract instead of the later one. Now lloyds are saying they will not accept the proper contract and that I would need to send them the second contract (that I sent to tesco) and all this other information that has absolutely no relevance to my claim and their equal responsibility in this matter! I feel they are just trying to fob me off by prolonging my claim as much as possible.

Is there any advice anyone can offer on what I could do in this situation?

Thanks in advance.

Both Barclaycard and HSBC won't reduce my interest rate

Hi, I've just called up Barclaycard and HSBC about credit card balances I have with both, because I want to reduce the interest rate I pay (21% and 24% respectively) and make more headway with my repayments and reducing the debt. But both flat out refused, even when I said that I would transfer the balance to another 0% deal elsewhere. I actually don't want to have to apply elsewhere as I'm self employed and worried I might get turned down, but I was quite shocked that they refused to offer me any deal at all to try and keep my custom.
Anyone else had any luck with getting an interest rate reduction?

Balance paid off several times

Hi all
I built up considerable credit card debts whilst my wife was on maternity leave. Those children are now young adults! Never been able to afford much more than minimum payments and I reckon they've been paid back 4 to 5 times. Falling income now means I'm struggling even with minimum payments. Pay day lenders are now limited to being paid off twice, is there anything can be done to get some relief from these credit card providers. Thanks.

Any recommended credit cards with ability to download .qif or .ofx?

I discovered yesterday that Capital One's new website does not include the previous functionality to download .qif files to import transactions into accounting software any more (YNAB in my case). I contacted them and they confirmed the functionality is no longer there, and they have no plans to add it in, but they will pass my feedback to their communications department as communications are very important to them.

I'm now looking to change credit card provider as a result, but I'm finding it very hard to find out other providers websites have the ability to download .qif or .ofx files upfront as this doesn't tend to be advertised. I pay off my credit card in full every month, so was looking at reward cards. I already have an Amex card, but need a secondary card for the places that do not take Amex, so thought maybe Amazon would be a good option. I called their Customer Support and was told they don't have the functionality I'm looking for either.

Can anyone recommend another option (reward card or otherwise)?

Thanks in advance!

Vanquis - Transaction Question

Hello,
Would this product, purchased through Amazon, be considered a Cash Advance transaction through Vanquis?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01M1XP8ZJ/ref=dsvrt_review_asin_detail

This is a Christmas present, however, there is no cash exchange for the voucher, it can be redeemed on PlayStation to purchase virtual goods instead.

Unfortunately the credit agreement does not include specific brands, so it is a blurred line.

0% credit card for new kitchen

I am considering getting a 0% credit card to pay for part of the cost of a new kitchen. I have the money to pay for it all but would like s.75 protection and I'd rather have my savings earning some interest. However I am a little confused, I understand that the card is 0% for a number of months and I would ensure that I pay off the balance in that time. However in a lot of the interest rates schedule it says "interest rate free period is 56 days providing that the balance is paid off in full each month". I intend to be making higher than the minimum repayment amount each month but obviously won't be paying off the balance in the first month. Will I still get 0% interest for the whole of the term? Many thanks.

Does anyone know what this line on an Amex statement means?

autoresettlemen autores

I have a charge of £20 on that day. The only unusual thing was that I had an Oyster problem and I had to use it as last resort for travel. I had not used that card before, and assumed I could just touch in and out with it. It charged me £2.90, that I see on my statement, but I don't know what the £20 is for.

Refunds on credit cards - loophole?

$

I had a big purchase last month that was refunded a day or so later. I thought this wouldn't affect anything on my cc bill but it does. The payment that was taken relating to the previous month was reduced by the refund amount.

Not sure if that's clear, so for example:
  1. run up a bill of £1,000 in October, payment date is 25th November
  2. on 10th November there's a charge for something of £700, this is refunded and credited off the next day
  3. the payment actually taken on the 25th is now £300

Is this how all credit cards work? If so, it would seem to me that if the charge/refund had been £1,000 and I did that every month, I'm effectively having the original £1,000 sitting there indefinitely and not paying interest on it.

Or am I missing something here?
