Just wondering if anyone else has any views on this.
Had to take time off work today to go in to town to a branch of Santander to give them my new address as I am moving home.
Most other credit cards/banks have allowed me to change address over the phone or via online banking, but Santander insist on doing this in the branch.
They asked to see a copy of my driving license to verify I am who I say I am (I have no problem with this), but they took a copy to keep on file. I questioned why this happens, and all I could get from them was that head office tell them they have to. I am awaiting a call back from the branch manager to explain why they 'have' to and what purpose it serves. They didnt need a copy of my driving license for me to apply for the credit card!!!
Just wondering if anyone else has any thoughts on this?
